INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL (IQAC)
The internal quality assurance cell (IQAC) of our college is a task force of senior faculty.
IQAC Members

  • The IQAC of our college is chaired by the principal and constituted with members of the society and faculty members.
  • Quality assurance and enhancement being an ongoing campaign, the IQAC of the college organizes workshops and enhancement being on ongoing campaign, the IQAC of the college organizes workshops and seminars on quality related themes and the various programmes of the college have been documented in the form of a self-study report.
  • The IQAC is currently poised to welcome an expert team to assess and accredit the instution, under the auspices of the national assessment and accreditation council (NAAC), a statutory body of the University Grants Commission (UGC)
PLACEMENT CELL

Vikasa
Placements are increasingly playing a major role in any higher educational institution of repute. We are proud of the success of our systematic and sustained approach in helping to launch our students on a meaningful career path. The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of our college plays a vital rolein shaping the careers of our students. Our college attracts some of thevest names in the industry who know the quality of human resource that we create.
Our alumni who are working in these organizations also assist us in the placement process. A fulltime placement officer assisted by her team and students coordinators works in tandem with the faculty to help our students to develop their productivity and employability.

GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING CELL

The Guidance and Counselling Committee of the college is being looked afterby a trained psychologist / counselor (Dr. Chand phasa Patel), who is assisted in providing guidance and support to the students by the teaching faculty. The committee identifies students who require services on priority along with their areas of deficiency and suffests the improvement required. It also conducts orientation programmes and arranges expert lectures for career counseling. One of the activities of the guidance and counseling committee is to administer psychological tests and tools to collect data from student for improving pupil support / guidance services.

As fas as academic counseling is concerned, students receive assistance on how to study and write the examinations to get good marks. The subject teachers take care of the programme. The committee also conducts individual as well as group counseling. The guidance cell deals with personal problems with adjustment in college or issues related to poor problems.

Remedial & Enrichment Programme
The College organizes remedial classes for students who do not perform well in the internal examination. These students area identified on the basis of their understanding and abilities of comprehension and performance in oral/ written tests, assignments and seminars. Additional help to these trainees is rendered through remedial teaching, easier assignment, problem-solving session, revisions and interactive discussion and through personal mentoring by the teachers concerned. The students are also given advice after class hours under remedial classes and are motivated by providing simple and direct learning material.

Enrichment classes are conducted for advance learners as well. These students are encouraged to adopt self-study methods for enrichment and remediation. They are exposed to both digital as well as traditional resources for enrichment. Brainstorming sessions, projects, seminars and discussions are organized to nurture their creative abilities.
Peer group learning, quizzes, essay writing competitions, Decision Making Exercises etc. are some of the activities organised for these students.

Skill Development Programme
The college provides necessary infrastructure, ICT support, books, material and allied resources for the enhancement of effectiveness of teaching entoring of the students. Various in house training programmes such as Personality development, Communication Development, Programmes on Life Skills, ICT Skills, Management Skill, Micro and Macro skills of teaching and skills of organizing events are also from time to time on the basis of needs identified after administering the Training Analysis (TNA) Questionnaire. These programmes help in building competencies and amongst trainees to become effective teachers.

GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL

The GrievanceRedressal Cell attempts to address genuine problems and complaints of students whatever be the nature of the problem. Students are encouraged to use the suggestion boxes placed on different sections of the campus to express constructive suggestions and grievances. They may also approach the members of the cell or any of their other teachers as is comfortable to them.

Students may also express their grievances online by filling out the form below.
Students are requested to note that making a complaint is serious and therefore they are to use this power in a responsible manner. At the same time, the college assures student that once a complain is made, it will be treated with sensitivity and confidentiality.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CELL

The Equal Opportunity Cell of the college ensures that all students are treated as equal and attempts to address deep seated inequalities in our system. The cell along with the Ambedkar Study Centre, promotes awareness on the life and vision of College. It also guides SC/ST students too avail of all permissible scholarships and financial assistance.

Our college has always ensured that physically challenged students do not get left behind in the learning process. Teachers pay more attention to their special needs and provide them more encouragement and support by conducting special classes for them after college hours. Also, the staff and management make it their prerogative to provide scribes for these students during tests and exams. The college celebrated World Disabilities Day by felicitating disabled persons. The cell works with other disabled institutes, the Women’s Forum, to address issues of gender discrimination.

CITIZENSHIP TRAINING CAMP

Citizenship Training Camp is the very important educational programme of the B Ed curriculum. Those who are going to become secondary school teachers should aware of rural area’s problems and culture. And they should have co-operate and communicate with rural people and should gain real experiences from them. For this purpose what our University arranged educational profram in our curriculum is called citizenship training camp.

Three days camp in rural area is compulsory to the B Ed students where they are going to get the awareness of their responsibilities as a citizen.

  • Organizing awareness programmes to the parents, students and publics
  • Conducting exhibitions
  • Carrying out extension activities

DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE

Vision
To create a safe and motivating environment in our institution and to bring professionalism among students by the inculcation of best practices.

Mission

  • To have an optimistic approach in imparting discipline among students
  • To frame rules and regulations to maintain discipline in the college premises.
  • To encourage Good and Healthy practices.

 

The Charges of the Committee are the following.

  • To maintain and enforce strict discipline within the college campus.
  • All the students should wear their ID Cards while they are in the campus and their respective class rooms.
  • In case of any violation of dress code or disturbance in the class, the ID card will be confiscated from the student which will be handed over to the student on the same day with a warning and advice from the Disciplinary Committee Members.
  • In case of any misbehavior or violation of the college rules. The ID cards of the students will be kept with the Disciplinary Committee Members till the enquiry is over.
  • To enforce total prohibition of cell phone usage by the students within the college campus. Please note that cell phone is prohibited in the college campus and if a student is found carrying a cell phone, it will be taken away and handed over to the Principal.
  • To monitor the movement of the students in the college and prevent students loitering around in the corridors during the college working hours.
  • To ensure that all the students attend classes without bunking and prevent them from leaving the college early. Please note that no student can leave the college early without prior permission from the concerned authorities.
    Smoking is strictly prohibited in the college campus and ensures that this is being strictly followed.
  • To ensure that students maintain complete silence in the library.
  • To maintain proper discipline in the college canteen and student waiting room during the college working hours.
    If any damage is caused to the college property by any student / group of students, the cost of the same will be recovered with a fine from the said student / group of this will be followed by disciplinary action.
  • If any indiscipline is found by any of the students, warn them on the first instance. Take disciplinary action based on the rules and regulations of the committee, if the patten of misconduct continues.

ANTI RAGGING CELL

Ragging is strictly banned in our college. If anybody found indulge in such kind of activities, strict action will be taken irrespective of the extent of the act. Ragging is banned by the Supreme Court of India. In order to prevent such kind of activity in campus, an anti-ragging committees has been formed is operational even before the start of First year classes by the Principal.

SAY NO TO RAGGING:
Ragging is neither a means of familiarization, nor an introduction with fresher’s but a form of Psychopathic behaviour. Ragging is a violation of Human Rights. Respect for Humanitarian
Values. Ragging is a heinous crime. Heavily punishable under the law. Ragging may spoil your career forever.

Following Behaviour with Freshers is Tantamount to Ragging.

  • Force students to address seniors as ‘Sir’
  • Force students to perform mass drills.
  • Force students to copy class notes for the seniors.
  • Force students to run various errands.
  • Force students to do menial jobs for the seniors.
  • Force students to ask/answer vulgar questions.
  • Force students to pornographic pictures.
  • Force students to drink alcohol, scalding tea, smoking, etc
  • Force students to perform acts which can lead to physical injury / mental torture of death
  • Force students to perform acts with sexual overtones, including homosexual acts.

Our College of Education, Gangavathi Karnataka is established in the year 1980 as Public Education Institute to provide higher education to build career in the field of Teaching. Our college of Education is having Aided, Affiliated to Koppal University, Recognized by NCTE, and Accredited ‘B’ Grade by NAAC. Management of Our College of Education, Gangavathi is working under Dr. K C Kulkarni (Principal)

Eligibility for Admission
A citizen of India who has passed any Bachelor’s degree admission of Koppal University or any University in India or across recognized of equivalent through pattern of education who has obtained 50% of marks in aggregate of all the subjects he/she has studied for degree is eligible for admission in B Ed academics.
